A big thank you to my guests during 2010 and welcome to another new year 2011 and I have kept the cottage rental prices the same as in 2009.
Last winter the bathroom suite was replaced in 'La Maison Fluerie'.
I am pleased to announce that the 'Bar du Chateau' (a 200yd. walk away) has undergone major renovations and has been re-opened under new management. I, and other customers, can fully recommend both lunchtime and evening meals.
A big welcome awaits you in Lassay les Chateaux a little gem of a village.
The top lake in the town has been dredged and restocked with trout for this years' fishing season, tickets available in the town.
The public rose garden with it's 260 varieties is a delight to see and smell in late June.
The Chateau in the town is open to visitors from Easter to the end of September during the afternoons.
What are your artistic skills like? Sunday 5th June is the annual 'Painters in the Street' event when anyone may paint a view in the town, if you register with the tourist information you will be invited to lunch with other artists in the 'Salle de Fete.' Many visitors will wander around the town viewing the exhibits.

Main roads will be particularly busy at the beginning and end of August when many French families depart for, or return from, their holidays.

Customer Praise for La Maison Fleurie and La Vigne
Thank you to all guests and again I can report that I have had a very successful season and following are a few comments from recent visitors. A warm welcome awaits guests for the 2011 season.
'La Maison Fleurie'
The house is very peaceful and calming with all amenities needed for a relaxing holiday. Local shops and in particular the intermarche in town we thought was perfect for the holiday maker. Bagnoles is lovely and the Terrace restuarant in town exceptional. Not the one at the Casino, the one in town. We found plenty places to visit without doing the tourist thing. Fourgeres is nice and also Laval and Mayenne.

'La Vigne'
We enjoyed our 2 weeks in La Vigne very much in your comfortable and well equipped gite. We were very lucky to have had such good weather for April and enjoy a glass or two of wine in your pleasant garden. A bonus was the short distance to the town to buy bread etc. and to sit in the square again with a glass of wine and watch the world go by.

'La Vigne'
The cottage was very cosy & relaxing and I very much enjoyed my stay.
Thank you so much for meeting my need at such short notice.

'La Maison Fluerie'
We very much enjoyed our stay - a lovely place and everyone, including yourselves, so friendly. Been singing the praises to our friends. So many great places to see both in Lassay and not far away and it was great to be able to walk and cycle to places and the shops/bars, which we wouldn't have been able to if we'd got a more remote cottage as most people do.

Dear Jane and David
Of course use my comments. We have stayed in quite a few cottages in France, and yours we found particularly attractive as well as comfortable.
We loved the peacfullness of Lassay and would ideally have stayed on for a month or two!!
Best Wishes to you both

'La Maison Fluerie'
You said Lassay would suit us and you could not have been more 'spot on'. We had a really wonderful and relaxing time, with sunshine every day bar none. We loved the village,or ' Petite City of Character' maybe I should call it, very
easy to shop and then relax over a coffee or two. Regarding the 'La Maison Fleurie’ once we adjusted to the low beams,(after a few ouches it must be said, despite the large notices) we enjoyed it fully, with the kitchen and dining working well, and with the sun as it was we were also able to eat in the garden at some point every day.

'La Vigne'
We have just come from staying in the nicest cottage! we loved it.
Thank you for the welcoming wine and beer. I enjoyed the wine myself..... as my husband does not drink!
We were really comfortable, and very much enjoyed the garden. So lucky with the weather so we had our lunches
outside and sat peacefully and read most of the time, and we had as many evening meals out as we could.

'La Maison Fleurie' "We had a wonderful stay in a lovely cottage that provided all the home comforts and some extra's needed for a family holiday. The cottage was clean and welcoming. The village location provided us with lots to see and do. Jane and David were brilliant hosts dealing with our needs and problems fast and efficiently.

Excellent accommodation. Clean and comfortable. A lovely place to stay - both cottage and town - a real 'home from home' so much so we want to live there ourselves! A great base for visiting the surrounding area or just relaxing in the garden - weather permitting.

We had a really enjoyable break in Lassay. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area and we had a great time exploring picturesque villages, old chateaux and pretty gardens. All in all it was a very relaxing holiday and we came back home feeling much refreshed. The house was so clean and tidy and had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. Our toddler had a great time too and particularly enjoyed the morning walks to the nearby boulangerie for delicious fresh croissants and brioche!
